Competition Guidelines:  Free Choice Program for all Divisions

 

Prizes:

Division I:     1st  -$500

                    2nd -$300

                    3rd-$100  

 

Division II:     1st-$250

                    2nd-$125

                    3rd-$75

 

Division I: Age 19 and older. No GFA Finalists permitted to compete!

1st round each competitor has 7 min. to play.
2nd round each competitor has 10min. to play.
Final round will consist of 15 min. for each finalist.

           
Division II: Ages 18 and younger (as of 4-1-09), (Program: 5 minutes 1st round, 8 minutes final round)

Competition Entry Fee:  

Division I- $100

Division II-$50

 

     There is NO DEADLINE OR LATE FEE TO ENTER COMPETITION
 

 

Competitors also receive full admission to all festival events.

Playing in masterclass IS included in competitor's fee.



Prizes for all Divisions consist of cash.

For Division II three players will be selected to participate in the final round.

Eight players will be selected from Division I to participate in the semi-final round. Three players will be selected from the semi-final round of Division I to participate in the final round.

Competitors will be evaluated on their technique,musicianship, and overall presentation. Judges comments will not be made available to competitors. Competitors are encouraged to ask for comments from the judges directly only after the competition has ended.

            Choice of music is entirely at the discretion of the competitor. A
competitor may perform the same or different music from round to round
without penalty. It is expected that every competitor's choice of music
fits within the time allowed for each round. If a competitor exceeds the
given time allotted, that competitor will be asked to stop but at no penalty
to his/her evaluation. All judge's decisions are final.

 

 

 

Masterclasses: 

FREE (with Full Registration)


Limited slots filled by first come first served basis. 

 

Full Registration (all events for non-competitors): $35

 

Parents of Competitors(all events): $25 per parent (maximum of 2)

Children under 10 are free.

 

Friday and Saturday Evening Concerts: $15 

 

Sunday Afternoon Concert: $10

 

Senior Citizens and Students: $3 discount

Masterclass(es) 9am-11:30am

Division II Competition Finals-1:15-2:00pm

Division I Competition Semi-Finals-2:30-5:30pm

Saturday Evening Concert 7:30pm - Hartzell and Berg Split Concert

Division II Awards Ceremony during Intermission

After Hours Event -Tombo Grille on Forest Drive  Immediately following the Concert

Sunday April 26th
